Visible and Short Wave IR Camera

LUCID’s Atlas SWIR and Triton SWIR cameras are IP67, GigE Vision PoE cameras featuring wide-band and high-sensitivity Sony SenSWIR 1.3 MP IMX990 and 0.3 MP IMX991 InGaAs sensors, capable of capturing images across both visible and invisible light spectrums, and boasting a miniaturized pixel size of 5μm. The camera’s capability of capturing on the short-wavelength infrared light spectrum opens up a world of industrial applications with greater precision in fruit inspection and sorting, packaging, IR microscopy, semiconductor inspection, material sorting and more.

Power Over Ethernet (PoE)

Both Atlas (IEEE 802.3at) and Triton (IEEE 802.3af) allows for power and data over a single Ethernet cable, reducing overall costs and simplifying installation.

Active Sensor Alignment

Each camera’s sensor is actively aligned to minimize image sensor tilt, image sensor rotation, and to place the center of the image sensor at the lens optical axis

M12 and M8 Connectors

Designed for secure connections and error free operation in vibration environments and shielded to protect against electrical interference

100m Cable Lengths

Compatible with cost-effective CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, CAT7 cabling for gigabit Ethernet bandwidth with a maximum cable length of 100m.

Explore Atlas SWIR IP67 camera models

The Atlas SWIR is a Factory Tough IP67 camera with high-performance sensor cooling designed to provide reliable operation and consistent imaging performance within -20 to 50°C industrial environments. The Atlas is equipped with an integrated single-stage thermoelectric sensor cooling (TEC1), along with an internal heatsink and larger camera case resulting in a constant 15°C sensor temperature for low dark current during streaming.

What can a SWIR camera do?

SWIR is sensitive to water and can be used to detect moisture in fruits and vegetables. Differences in moisture levels can show up as bruising in produce. In the example above, normal wavelengths (left) are unable to detect any bruising but SWIR can detect bruising in the apples (right).

What can a SWIR camera do?

Different objects of the similar color and shape can be hard to differentiate from each other. SWIR wavelengths are absorbed and reflected differently depending on the object’s material (right). This can be used to detect foreign objects that might overwise go undetected using visible light (left).

What can a SWIR camera do?

Checking fill levels of packages is difficult under visible light (left), especially is the packaging has printed graphics on it. Certain opaque plastic packaging becomes transparent under SWIR wavelength (right). This can be used for fill level inspection or check seal integrity for heated seal package in the food industry.

What can a SWIR camera do?

Different compounds looking similar under visible light may absorb SWIR wavelengths differently. In this example flour, baking soda, and sugar are aligned left to right. By selecting a specific narrow band of the SWIR the spectrum it’s easy to discriminate between the various materials. This is well suited for application in the pharmaceutical industry where identifying different compounds with certainty is critical.

What can a SWIR camera do?

SWIR can be used to inspect silicon wafers as silicon becomes translucent at wavelengths around 1100nm to 1400nm (right). While visible light can be used to help detect issues on the front-side of the wafer (left), SWIR allows foreign objects or imperfections to show up more easily on both the front-side and back-side of the wafer.

What can a SWIR camera do?

Certain materials do not change color in the visible light spectrum as they heat up (left). SWIR is much more sensitive to detecting temperature changes from 100°C to over 1600°C in objects (right).

IP67 FactoryTough SWIR Camera

Both the Atlas and Triton are IP67 Factory Tough PoE cameras, design fully tested against shock, vibration, water, dust, temperature and electromagnetic interference.

What is IP67?

With the IP67 lens tube and cables attached, the IP67 Atlas and Triton SWIR offers protection from solid particles such as dust, dirt and sand. It also offers water ingress protection of upt o 1 meter submersion for 30 minutes. Employ high quality imaging under harsh environments without additional bulkey enclosures.

Shocks and Vibration

Complies with EN 600068-2-27, EN 600068-2-64. Tested and certified against shocks (x/y/z/), bumps (x/y/z), and vibrations (x/y/z, random and sinusoidal). Tested up to 20G shocks, 4.9G random vibrations, 10G sinusoidal vibration.

Industrial EMC Immunity

Complies with EN 61000-6-2. The camera is exposed to electromagnetic noise, electrostatic discharge, power surges, voltage fluctuations and current emissions. This is to ensure the device will operate as intended and without failure when used within industrial environments.

Atlas SWIR: Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC) For Consistent Imaging Performance

The Atlas SWIR camera is equipped with an integrated single-stage thermoelectric sensor cooling (TEC1) for superior image quality and extended operating temperature range. The TEC1 offers a Delta T up to 30°C. In addition, the Atlas SWIR IP67 camera integrates an internal heatsink to quickly dissipate sensor heat to the camera case. The TEC, combined with an internal heatsink and aluminium case desing, allows consistent imaging performance between -20 to 50°C case temperature.
